Hol Chan/Shark Ray Alley
Hol Chan is our most popular Snorkel Adventure. As a matter of fact, it is the second most popular dive/snorkel site in Belize. Thousands of large and small fish inhabit this magnificent underwater National Park. The reef system that borders Belize was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO several years ago. Hol Chan, or “Little Channel,” which cuts all the way through the reef, lives up to its reputation among some of the world’s best dive sites. Hol Chan is safe for beginners and breathtaking for advanced divers. Don’t miss Hol Chan!
Breathtaking coral of all descriptions abound in and around Hol Chan and serve as a habitat for literally millions of species of fish. Incredible stories of the magnificence of this Marine Reserve are frequently told; the reserve is well guarded and preserved. It’s a marine wonderland that every snorkeler and diver (beginner and experienced) must see.
The ultimate Hol Chan experience, will be your exciting half-hour “swim with the sharks.” That’s right; you can swim with the sharks and the stingrays in Shark Ray Alley. Dozens of nurse sharks will circle your boat as if they were the Caribbean’s welcoming committee. When you enter the water, you can observe the activities of these friendly sharks and rays up close and personal if you’re adventurous and not faint of heart. However, it’s against the law to touch or hold any marine life while snorkeling or scuba diving. We promise you’ll talk about your shark adventure for years to come.

Mexico Rocks
Rendezvous at Ramon’s Village Divers a few minutes before departure to give yourself enough time to gather your equipment. Then hop on board one of our comfortable and uncrowded dive boats, and enjoy the scenery as you head north toward this wonderful snorkel site, Mexico Rocks.
Huge brain coral, the likes of which you may have never seen before, are everywhere at Mexico Rocks. This is one of our most requested snorkel trips. The water is crystal clear, and hardly any current is ever present to restrict your snorkel experience. Large outcroppings of coral, some protruding above the surface, are home for millions of small fish, lobster, conch and an occasional sea turtle.
After a light snack and a cold beverage, your Ramon’s Village Divers skipper will take you to Tres Cocos, and if you’re up to it, your guide will let you snorkel parallel with the reef as you drift southward toward Ramon’s Village Resort. Your guide will accompany you in the water while your skipper follows you at a safe distance. Hop back in the boat anytime you’re ready, and be chauffeured back to Ramon’s Village.

Caye Caulker/Sail/Snorkel
Fourteen miles southeast of Ambergris Caye lies the island of Caye Caulker. Five miles long and one mile wide, this quaint island has been a destination for backpackers and ecological minded travelers for as long as we can remember. The general population is mixed with Garafuna and Rastas, sprinkled with a few Europeans and Americans. The music you hear playing from the shops lets you know this island is definitely not Americanized.
Our trip begins at Ramon’s Village dock, and as soon as your party is aboard, we will set sail for Hol Chan, the second most popular snorkel site in Belize. Millions of small fish and big fish such as grouper, barracuda, yellow jack and even green morays inhabit this magnificent underwater National Park. The park is part of the Barrier Reef system which was designated a World Heritage Site by the United Nations several years ago.

Back aboard, lie back and enjoy the ride to Caye Caulker. Then go ashore, and spend some time dining at one of the very unusual cafes, or go shopping in some of the gift shops that are there for your enjoyment. The non-stop ride back to Ramon’s Village Resort is the perfect time to relax and soak up some sun so all your friends know you went on a beach vacation when you get home.

Sunset Snorkel
As the sun begins to set, the large fish begin to enter Hol Chan through a twenty-eight foot deep cut in the reef. They know that the shallows and coral outcroppings that exist inside the cut provide their meal for the evening. Thousands, if not millions, of small fish scurry busily as darkness overtakes them. Snuggling close to the giant coral heads, these small fish hover, precariously still, as they avoid the larger fish, which are searching for their supper. Green moray and spotted eels are sometimes seen, as are sleeping sharks and octopuses. In case you don’t know it, there are very few places on earth where you can see a sleeping shark; Hol Chan, at night, is one of them.
As your underwater light illuminates our crystal clear waters, you’ll be blown away by what your eyes behold. Everything comes alive at night, even the coral takes on new dimensions and color as your light illumines every inch of this underwater paradise.
Before you end your dive, be sure to venture into the cut itself and snorkel over hundreds of rays as they cover the sandy bottom as if they were blankets. It’s an amazing site to behold and to photograph.

Beach Picnic and Snorkel
When the owners of Ramon’s Village bring their guests down for a visit, the Beach Picnic is always on the top of their “things to do” list! Over 1500 years ago, Robles Point served as an outpost for the Mayan Indians who occupied the north end of Ambergris Caye. The fortified walls, even though now collapsed, can be seen even in the thick underbrush. It is near this area where a lavish beachside picnic will be prepared (provided you catch, hook or spear something on your way from Ramon’s Village Resort to Robles!)
Your beach picnic excursion will begin with a comfortable boat ride northward to Mexico Rocks where we will make a snorkel stop. Here you will be able to catch, spear or hook your own lunch. Whatever is in season will be marinated with our special mixture of herbs and seasonings. As you continue on to Robles Point, your first mate will prepare conch or shrimp ceviche, a delicious mixture of flavors that will make you crave for more.
After arriving at Robles Point, your guides will build a fire while you walk the beach in search for treasure. You can never tell what you might find washed up on the beach. The owner of Ramon’s has found many items of great interest. When your lunch is ready, you’ll sit down to coleslaw, tortillas, baked potatoes, chips and your seafood “catch of the day.” You’ll be talking about this experience for years.
On your way back to Ramon’s, a brief stop at Mata Rocks allows you to get one more taste of God’s creative handiwork beneath the sea. In our opinion, you can’t snorkel too much in our beautiful Caribbean Sea.

Beach Picnic & Sailing Cruise
Climb aboard our thirty-eight foot catamaran and sail the high seas, retracing the route of those who harvested the coconut crops for English merchants in the 1600s. Millions of coconuts were harvested each year and sent to England for their bakeries and restaurants. Just imagine pristine beaches lined with virgin coconut palms as far as the eye could see. It must have been something, huh?
Around lunch, your skipper will anchor near the coral rich Mexico Rocks; a popular destination that is perfect for beginner and advanced snorkelers. You won’t believe the beauty and color of this incredible coral forest!
When your snorkeling experience is complete, you will board your vessel to the alluring aroma of barbecue fish, chicken and shrimp with all the trimmings which will be served on deck. (Lobster and conch will be on the menu, when they are in season.) After lunch, a nap, sunbathing or another dip in our crystal clear water is part of the agenda.
The cruise home will be leisurely and very relaxing as the waves splash lazily against the hull, whispering thank you, thank you, thank you for coming to Belize.

Sunset Sailing Cruise
Feel like Leonardo and Kate as they stood on the bow of the Titanic! Remember how he climbed up on the bow railings and then, as if he were Rocky Balboa, held his hands and arms skyward and shouted, “King of the World.” You too can be exhilarated to unbelievable heights as you and your honey, or your entire family, join our captain and crew aboard our thirty-eight foot catamaran.
Shortly after leaving Ramon’s Village dock, the western sky will begin to fill with the golden glow of the setting sun. As it lowers behind the horizon, millions of diamond like reflections tip each wave and ripple as far as the eye can see. You’ll never forget the first time you experience this incredible display of Heavenly handiwork.
Our return leg takes you in front of San Pedro where you’ll get a glimpse of what our town looks like at night. Listen as the Calypso beat fills the night air and your “Titanic” glides gracefully across the waves. Snuggle with your honey and reflect upon the wonder of it all as the gentle Caribbean breeze massages you gingerly all the way home.

Glass Bottom Boat
Senior citizens and kids will love this trip. As a matter of fact, the whole family will love this trip! All you have to do is get on board and we’ll do the rest. A brief twenty minute ride to Hol Chan Marine Reserve is enjoyable, and there are lots of things to see on the way. When you arrive at Hol Chan, your eyes will not believe the wonder of it all. Large fish are plentiful, but the number of small colorful fish will take your breath away. Sharks, rays and barracuda are also residents of Hol Chan as are a few sea turtles, eels and grouper. There’s no shortage of marine life, but marine life is just half of what we have here in this area of the Caribbean. The reef is the frame around our magnificent array of undersea life.
While we’re at Hol Chan, your skipper will anchor for fifteen to twenty minutes, and you can see firsthand the creative genius of this undersea wonder. If you have on your swim trunks, don your snorkel gear, and take to the water to enjoy the plethora of fish and an array of tropical marine life and coral.
Next, the glass bottom boat will take you to the amazing Shark Ray Alley where you can observe sharks and rays from the safety of your glass bottom boat or get in amongst them! That’s right, you can swim with the sharks and the stingrays in Shark Ray Alley. Dozens of nurse sharks will circle your boat as if they were the Caribbean’s welcoming committee. Our coral has been around for thousands of years and is actually a living organism, so we respect the world’s second largest barrier reef. Help us take care of it because when you see it close up, it’s easy to recognize, it is truly the Creator’s masterpiece.

Caye Caulker Manatee Experience
Join us for a leisurely twenty minute boat ride to our next door neighbor, Caye Caulker, where your guide will search out the Manatee in the shallow waters behind the Caye. Enjoy an hour long snorkel with the Manatee before heading to Coral Gardens for a second snorkel stop where you’ll see the “dancing fans” of Coral Gardens and the teeming, exotic tropical fish that live among them. We want to be sure we do not have any adverse effect on the Manatee, so we ask that you please do not touch them or attempt to feed them in any way.
Trip departs at 8:00AM and returns about 11:00AM. Requires a minimum of four persons or you can pay an additional fee and go with less than the minimum. Bottled water and soft drinks are provided.
Altun Ha
Altun Ha, which is Maya for “rock stone water,” is the ultimate Mainland experience in Belize. Get ready for some fun! Hop aboard our twenty-eight foot or thirty-four foot skiffs and settle in for a scenic and comfortable boat ride. Head westward across the San Pedro Lagoon toward the mainland and enter the Northern River. A thirty minute ride up this narrow, winding river is one you won’t soon forget.
Depending on the time of year, our skipper may have to keep his speed up to miss the submerged rocks and tree logs. There are, however, areas where the river deepens and your skipper will actually stop your boat so you can observe the jungle wildlife that is so plentiful in this area of Belize.
Your boat will dock at the quaint Village of Bomba. There you can buy souvenirs or just observe tradition being practiced by local residents. Of course, you may see some of the locals in Hard Rock t-shirts, so don’t expect loincloths.
A van will pick you up in Bomba and take you up the old and bumpy Pan-American Highway to the ancient archaeological site of Altun Ha. Stelae, sacrificial altars, various temples and dozens of out buildings have been discovered here. Some have been restored, but many are in the condition they were found. Excavation began back in 1965 by the Royal Ontario Museum.
When your on-site tour of this historical treasure is complete, you’ll hop back in your van and head to Maruba, one of the most unique jungle lodges in Belize. Here you can have lunch, get a massage or facial, ride a horse or take a nap and listen to the sounds of Belizean wildlife. Of course, these are optional and are not included in our prices.
After an hour or so at Maruba, you’ll head southwest to the Northern River where you’ll rendezvous with our boat for your return trip to Ramon’s Village Resort on Ambergris Caye.
